Shiksha Bridge
Shiksha Bridge is a student-led nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding educational opportunity for underprivileged students in India. Founded by siblings Rohun and Zara Gundoju, the organization was created with the belief that every child deserves access to the tools, support, and opportunities needed to succeed in school and beyond.
What makes Shiksha Bridge unique is its perspective. As students themselves, the founders understand how strongly education shapes confidence, independence, and future possibilities. Their goal is not only to support students academically, but also to help create environments where young people feel encouraged to pursue larger goals and believe in their potential.
The organization values community-centered impact and believes meaningful change happens through collaboration, compassion, and consistent support. By working alongside local partners and focusing on real student needs, Shiksha Bridge aims to create opportunities that can have lasting effects on students, families, and communities.
At its core, Shiksha Bridge exists to help close educational gaps and inspire a future where every student has the chance to learn without limitation.
Meet the Founders
Rohun Gundoju
Rohun is a high school student and co-founder of Shiksha Bridge, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit inspired by an eye-opening trip to India. During a visit to villages outside Kolkata, he saw firsthand the challenges many students face and felt compelled to make a difference for underprivileged students. That experience inspired him and his twin sister, Zara, to take action and help children by providing funds for educational resources and support they need to reach their potential.
Rohun co-leads the organization’s strategy with Zara and oversees operations and finance. He lives in Sugar Land, TX and enjoys anything numbers-related. He participates in business competitions, enjoys learning about technology, and loves sports statistics. In his spare time, he travels with his family, plays basketball, and enjoys sketching.
Zara Gundoju
Zara is a high school student from Texas and the co-founder of Shiksha Bridge. She believes that every child deserves equal access to education and the resources needed to succeed. Her inspiration comes from traveling to India where she witnessed firsthand how many children lack the educational opportunities and learning materials taken for granted elsewhere. These experiences motivated Zara and her brother, Rohun, to start Shiksha Bridge.
Zara co-leads the organization’s strategy and oversees marketing and public relations, helping share the mission and expand its reach. Outside of her work with Shiksha Bridge, Zara enjoys traveling, baking, graphic design, and staying active. She is passionate about creating opportunities for students and helping ensure that education is accessible to all.
